Water Witch Tragedy November 29,1875

“A Century and Half” Events for 2025

Celebrations and commemorations for the Water Witch will be held in Pouch Cove and Cupids. Planned events include the gathering of the families and friends from the rescuers in Pouch Cove and those of the victims and survivors in Cupids.

November 29th in Pouch Cove A celebration on November 29th is planned which will include a dinner. 

December 6th in Cupids A commemoration will be held at the burial site, followed by a dinner and the inaugural Water Witch Historic Lecture at the Cupids Legacy Centre.
